THE BASIC MATERIALS THAT YOU NEED ARE

- shoebox (black or any other colour)

- scissors

- cutter

- silicone or adhesive 

- foam crafts sheets, old clothes or a cloth to cover the two holes but at the same time allowing for the hand to enter inside the shoebox.

THE OPTIONAL MATERIALS THAT YOU CAN USE ARE

- foam crafts sheets or any other school material for decorating the shoebox (glitter, coloured sheets, cardboards of different colours, stickers, drawing made by you and pasted on the shoebox.

FOR DOING THE HANDCRAFT FOLLOW THE STEPS OF BELOW:

-do the two holes at the extremes of the shoebox using the cutter

-place the foam craft sheet within the shoebox to cover the holes

- decorate the shoebox

DO YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW TO USE IT?

In this activity you will need the help of another person; it can be anyone you are at home with right now. this person will have to choose some objects that you have at home (school material, small toy...) and will have to keep them in the box. you can use as many objects as you want! it is important to note that one object will be used in each round,  because you don't have to put all the objects in the box at once.

Each round will be conducted as follows:


- First, the person will put the first object in the box. you can0t look what object it is.

- once the object is stored in the box, you'll put your hands in the box through the holes in order to touch it. through touch you will have to describe the following properties: mass, volume, flexibility and hardness. (obviously you will not be able to know the exact mass and volume of the object but you will be able to tell if it has a lot of mass or not too much mass and if it has a lot of volume or not. below you will be able to download a document where you will be able to write it down!

- once you've discovered all the properties... you can even try to guess what object you're touching!

-you will have to follow the same procedure with all the objects you will use for the activity
 

IF YOU LIKE THE ACTIVITY YOU CAN EVEN CHALLENGE THE PERSON WHO IS HELPING YOU. THE TWO PEOPLE TRY TO DESCRIBE AND GUESS THE OBJECTS TO SEE WHO DOES IT BETTER.
